Some of our larger raptors and waterfowl are on the verge of departing the area and it is a great opportunity for viewing<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1133 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.greatriver.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/tundra-swans.jpg\" alt=\"tundra swans\" width=\"226\" height=\"91\" \/> relatively\u00a0large congregations of Egrets, Great Blue Herons, American White Pelicans. Small groups of Tundra Swans are filtering onto pool 8 and likely pool 7 already. Please comment as to where you are seeing swans.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eagles<\/strong> are also abundant as the summer and winter Bald Eagles make the winter switch. Our summer residents are soon leaving for permanently open water closer to the mouth of the Ohio, Eagles from the north are moving down to their hunting snags located at the pools. Are you seeing a Golden Eagle? It&#8217;s possible!<a href=\"http:\/\/www.greatriver.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/watermarked-eagles.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-873\" src=\"http:\/\/www.greatriver.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/watermarked-eagles-300x86.jpg\" alt=\"Eagles on ice\" width=\"300\" height=\"86\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.greatriver.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/watermarked-eagles-300x86.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.greatriver.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/watermarked-eagles-500x144.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.greatriver.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/watermarked-eagles.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Saw 14 Eagles\u00a0flying between Hwy 35 and a bluff top near Genoa\u00a0on 10\/29\/15. Others have also reported seeing large and small clusters.
