{"id":1687,"date":"2016-11-06T07:59:02","date_gmt":"2016-11-06T13:59:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.greatriver.com\/wordpress\/?p=1687"},"modified":"2016-11-06T12:43:29","modified_gmt":"2016-11-06T18:43:29","slug":"indian-summer-in-full-glory-come-out-to-play","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.greatriver.com\/wordpress\/indian-summer-in-full-glory-come-out-to-play\/","title":{"rendered":"Indian Summer in Full Glory&#8230; Come Out to Play!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today and the week to follow\u00a0is a great time to explore the coulees, streams and river valleys, bluffs and trails of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/great-river-arts.myshopify.com\/products\/the-driftless-region-map-designed-by-lisa-middleton\">Driftless Region<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of Western Wisconsin, NW Illinois, SE Minnesota and and NE Iowa!<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.greatriver.com\/wordpress\/?s=pelicans&amp;submit=Search\">Pelicans<\/a><\/strong> are mobbing up into great clusters of pristine white on the Mississippi River. Bald Eagles are abundant&#8230; we saw several pairs just hanging out in nests, enjoying the day as much as we were! \u00a0Can&#8217;t say I&#8217;ve seen <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.greatriver.com\/wordpress\/?s=tundra&amp;submit=Search\">Tundra Swans<\/a><\/strong> as yet&#8230;which is fine with me as they remind us a frozen river is not far behind!!<\/p>\n<p>The river has finally dropped a bit, so fishing has picked up. Fishing Barges and boat landings we saw were busy.<\/p>\n<p>The Fishing\u00a0rep<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clementsfishing.com\/images\/family-fun.jpg\" alt=\"Fun for the whole family\" \/>ort from Clements Fishing Barge: &#8220;November 3rd: Fishing has been pretty good for walleye and sauger.\u00a0 White bass are done and the perch scarce.\u00a0 Most fish are coming in on minnows or hair jigs.\u00a0 Guys are still using 1 oz jigs, water is still higher than normal, but fish are in.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy the weekend!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today and the week to follow\u00a0is a great time to explore the coulees, streams and river valleys, bluffs and trails of the Driftless Region\u00a0of Western Wisconsin, NW Illinois, SE Minnesota and and NE Iowa!
