But notice the very black bill which makes an almost perfect triangle and stretches right to the eye.<\/p>\n<p>Image\u00a0above is from the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.trumpeterswansociety.org\/swan-identification.html\">\u00a0Trumpeter Swan<\/a>\u00a0society site. The society offers a detailed identification guide free if you\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.trumpeterswansociety.org\/docs\/TTSS%20Swan%20Goose%20IDcolor.pdf\">CLICK HERE.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Image below is of a <strong>Tundra Swan,<\/strong> which is just slightly smaller and has a more curved bill and a light spot near the eye. Tundra Swans pass through in the Spring migration to the North, but will be seen in large groups. The <strong>Trumpeter<\/strong>, which was first established in Iowa in the last decade (I believe) now nests on the Upper River.
