While our focus on www.greatriver.com is the Mississippi River and other great world waterways, there are many other waterway sites that will interest our river buffs. Former Delta Queen Riverlorian, Jerry Hay, puts his focus on the Indiana waterways at  http://www.riverlorian.com (corrected link) .

A great site for those searching for historic riverboats and Captains!

SHANTY BOATS  Joe McWilliams has collected a fair amount of information on shanty boats themselves, old and new, Mississippi and elsewhere, and he maintains several booklists as well.  Another related site is an online book Four Months in a Sneak-Box by Nathaniel H. Bishop (1837-1902), 1879. Chapter One is located at http://eldred.ne.mediaone.net/nhb/S1.HTM
